One book at a time? Or more than one? If more, are they different types/genres? Or similar?
(We’re talking recreational reading, here—books for work or school don’t really count since they’re not optional.)
As for what I read - No rhyme, no reason - No, that's not true, because I am apt to be reading poetry and non-fiction together, along with fiction, which can be anything from classics to children's books.
(In fact, I have just joined a read-and-knit-along for Anne of Green Gables, and I'm looking forward to it as I would look forward to curling up with ice water and peppermints... no, that's A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, which I also want to reread...)

That sounds like me! If it looks good, I probably won't be able to resist even if I'm already reading three others. And the only planning I do is trying to cram all my challenge reads into what remains of the month. (Always a problem, becaue I get sidetrcked by everything else!)
Oh sounds just like me, always got one novel, one poetry book, one non-fiction (or short stories).
Yeah....that sounds like me too!! I've never been a big non-fiction reader, but I'm trying to change that. Right now, I have one YA book, 2 fiction and 2 non-fiction going all at once!!
Happy Thursday!
I'm really starting to rethink my monogamous relationship with a book while I'm reading...
Happy BTT!
I started re-reading the Anne books last summer, but got off track. Time to get back to them. Wish I could knit!
That sounds like me lately. I want a taste of everything. LOL. Happy BTT!
I lose focus if I try to read more than one book at a time. Happy BTT!
I really liked your answer - probably because mine is similar! I'm just finishing Anne of Green Gables, by the way, but am not going to join the knitalong (I do appreciate your mentioning it, though, and I plan to lurk there for a while). And thanks for the reminder about A Tree Grows in Brooklyn - I'm going to add it to my re-read list.
Wow, I wish I could knit so I could join the Anne read-along! I loved those books and would love to reread them some day.

a read and knit along sounds like fun. Happy BTT!
I'm so monogamous, I want to cry when I read the comments here. *pout* Once in a while I do cheat by reading two at the same time, but mostly I'm a one-book-at-a-time person. :D
Happy BTT and happy weekend!
Sometimes when I look at all the appetizing books on my shelf I wouldn't mind dipping into each one, but I'm afraid that would get me nowhere fast! LOL I prefer to read one book at a time and then move onto the next. Occasionally, I read more than one, but it's usually because the books I'm reading call for occasional breaks in between each reading.
All of these on-line knitting groups make me jealous. I'm hopeless with anything involving needlework and yet I wistfully imagine knitting a pair of socks while reading Don Quixote....
I can be Monogamous in marriage but never in reading.
I just can't be faithful to only one book. As hard as I try.
I have the same problem with knitting and yarn.
(hangs head low) 'Oh I am so shamed.'
